Woman caged for stabbing mother for allegedly marrying her spiritually: A 24-year-old woman has been remanded in police prison after stabbing her mother, whom she said was spiritually wedded to her.
The accused, whose identity has been withheld, repeatedly stabbed her 46-year-old single mother in the hand, neck, and back on the grounds that she was having sex with her.
The accused was not pleased, so she stabbed the mother in the neck from behind, and the kitchen knife she used shattered and became caught in her neck.
The woman’s screams brought attention to the area, and she (the victim) was rescued.
The victim was brought to the Abokobi Health Centre before being transferred to the 37 Military Hospital, where he is now being treated.
The accused has had her plea reserved by the court presided over by Mrs. Sedinam Awo Balokah, who is charged with committing illegal injury. On November 16, the accused is due to reappear.
The complainant is a businessman who lives in Abladjei, near Abokobi, according to Prosecuting Superintendent of Police Patience Mario.

The accused, together with her brother, has lived with the victim since she was a child, according to the prosecution. The accused and her brother were raised by the victim as single parents after their father abandoned them.
According to the prosecutor, the victim afterward had a partner who lived in Abokobi.
According to Supt. Mario, the victim visited her lover in October and took the accused with her. When they arrived, they discovered that the victim’s boyfriend had gone to Takoradi in the Western Region.
According to the prosecution, a misunderstanding occurred between the victim and the accused on October 27, this year. The victim had spiritually married the accused and was having intercourse with her, according to the accused.
The accused then got a small kitchen knife and stabbed the victim’s hand, neck, and back multiple times, according to the prosecution.

The accused was apprehended by Abokobi Police and turned over to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit, according to the prosecution.
The suspect was warned, and the crime scene was examined, with half of the broken knife being recovered. The victim was still being treated at the 37 Military Hospital, according to the prosecution, and her medical form had not yet been signed.
The Prosecutor also stated that investigations were ongoing.
