Will Chelsea Still Go For Tchouameni? Real Madrid’s pursuit of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has reportedly intensified.
The 22-year-old is largely expected to depart his Ligue 1 side this summer, and Chelsea has been heavily linked with a move for the France international for several months.
The Blues were supposed to be the frontrunners to sign the midfielder, but SoyMadridista reports that Real Madrid has stepped up its attempts to get him to the Bernabeu.
According to the report, the Spanish club’s top scout Juni Calafat has traveled to Monaco to meet with Tchouameni’s representatives to negotiate a summer swap.
Real Madrid is currently said to be at the front of the queue for the midfielder, with Carlo Ancelotti identifying him as a top transfer target ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Tchouameni has been in excellent form for Monaco this season, making 31 appearances across all competitions, and has also established himself as a key figure for France since making his debut in September.
Real Madrid feels the Frenchman has the potential to be a long-term successor for Casemiro.
