UHAS Admission Process: The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) was established by an Act of Parliament (Act 828 in December 2011) with the intention of becoming a preeminent institution of higher learning dedicated to community service and research in the field of health.
The main campus and the central administration are located in Ho, the second campus is in Hohoe.
In Volta Region Ghana, UHAS was the government’s first public university and is presently the only government university wholly dedicated to the training of healthcare professionals.
Schools in UHAS
Now, UHAS is operating 8 schools that provide 21 undergraduate programs and a couple of postgraduate programs. The eight schools consist of:
- School of Nursing and Midwifery,
- School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences,
- Fred N. Binka School of Public Health,
- School of Allied Health Sciences,
- School of Dentistry,
- School of Medicine,
- School of Pharmacy,
- School of Sports and Exercise Medicine.
Moreover, UHAS comprises two institutes: the Institute of Health Research as well as the Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine. A third institution that hasn’t yet been established is the Institute of Medical Education.

How to Apply Online for Admission to UHAS 2023

Application
Both Ghanaians and foreign applicants submit applications. However, foreign applicants are recommended to get in touch with the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) for a thorough analysis of their results.
Domestic applicants
A passport-sized photo with a white backdrop that is no larger than 400KB must be uploaded by candidates while completing the online form.
Before submitting their online applications, applicants are recommended to carefully review all of the information they have provided. Once submitted, a form cannot be changed.
Print three (3) copies of the PREVIEW PAGE (the application summary) after finishing the registration process, then submit it online.
When printing the application summary, Access, Sandwich, or similar applicants should attach two copies of each result slip, and Access Course, Sandwich, MPhil, MPH, and PHD applicants should attach their transcripts and certificates.
At the closest Ghana Post office, applicants should buy two UHAS EMS envelopes (one big size envelope and one quarto size self-address envelope).
The large UHAS EMS envelope should be filled with the application form and result slips, along with the quarto-sized self-addressed envelope, and delivered to the nearest Ghana Post office.
International applicants

For a full explanation of their results, international applicants are urged to get in touch with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission in Accra, Ghana.
Ghana Tertiary Education Commission shall authenticate and evaluate the equivalents of all international certificates.
All documents issued in other languages must be translated into English.
Upon acceptance, overseas applicants should be aware that they must first get a Non-Citizen Ghana card in accordance with Ghanaian law before enrolling in any university courses.
All international applicants should however get in touch with the Office of International Programs after receiving an admissions offer for guidance on how to get a Ghana card.
APPLICATION PROCESS
By going to the online admissions portal and selecting “Click to apply as a Foreign Student,” you can access the form online.
You will receive an activation code by email and mobile device.
Choose International Student under Form Type. To access the application form, use the activation code.
The applicant must provide a white background passport-size photo which is not larger than 400KB.
Print off three copies of the preview page after completing the online form (application summary). then submit it online.
Scan your pay-in slip, certificates/results slip, and application summary as one PDF or WORD document, then send it as an attachment to admissions@uhas.edu.gh.
Foreign applicants should be aware that without documentation showing that the application fee has been paid, no application would be completed.
