UEW Distance Courses and Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements for UEW Distance Education Programs
Applicants interested in pursuing their master’s through the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) should meet the following requirements:
Possessing a Bachelor’s Degree in English which has an education component (example: Bachelor of Arts in English Language Education)
NB: It MUST be awarded by UEW or/ an equivalent recognized, by a University precisely.
Having a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree is a requirement but if it does not have an education component then you are not qualified to apply.

NB: Applicants should also have a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDE) from the field of Education or/ obtain a Diploma in Education as an additional requirement.
All applicants will be expected to attend an interview and PASS for selection.
Applicants willing to pursue their Diploma in Education through Distance at UEW should pay attention to the ONLY requirements:
It is a MUST that all applicants apply with ONLY one of the below listed lawful requirements
Apply with a Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field of study you have.
Apply with a tertiary Diploma.
NB: Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent from any accredited tertiary institution is also permitted for applying.
A holder of an Advanced/Part III Certificate in a trade subject can also apply for admission.
UEW Distance Courses and Admission Requirements
EXCEPTIONAL REQUIREMENT
Some applicants per the definition of UEW guidelines would be admitted to Level 300 straight forward right from admission.
Below is the slated requirement:
Applicants applying for B.Ed. Basic Education
Distance Programmes specifically, Early Grade
Option [Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE)] certificate will pursue the program for only two (2) years.
You MUST obtain the certificate or a holder of the certificate from any recognized tertiary institution to benefit from the slated benefit.
In exception of all the above-mentioned requirements limited to the listed programs under UEW Distance Programmes, the rest follows:
REQUIREMENTS
You MUST PASS WASSCE with a good grade. The grades should commence from A1 to C6. The focus subjects will be English Language, Mathematics, and Science. Also, applicants should PASS in three (3) electives that are related to the program they ought to pursue.
