UCL Games Today: The long wait has come to an end. More than a month after the end of group play, the Champions League returned on CBS and paramount+ yesterday. The real fun begins now. I don’t want to insult any Champions League group stage fans out there, but I’ve always believed that the real Champions League begins once you reach the knockout stages.
Yes, rooting for Cinderellas like Sheriff Tiraspol early in the competition and watching them upset giants like Real Madrid is entertaining, but I don’t follow the Champions League for underdog stories.
UCL Games Today: Round of 16 Fixtures & Schedule
I enjoy watching the Champions League because it has the finest of the best competing against each other. Oh, and I also keep an eye out for the national anthem.
The anthem is fantastic, but the section about the greatest of the best is particularly memorable. That section starts on Tuesday, and I’ve got a choice for each of the four games this week. Caesars Sportsbook provides all odds.

UCL Games Today: Michael Owen’s predictions
Red Bull Salzburg v Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich has had a rough season. They’ve looked fantastic at times, as good as anyone in Europe, but they’ve also had some strange results, like the 4-2 loss to Bochum over the weekend. Salzburg is a well-coached team, and I expect them to score. However, I believe Bayern will win 2-1.
Inter Milan v Liverpool
Going to the San Siro is never easy, but Liverpool will be aided by the knowledge that they triumphed here earlier this season. Inter had a fantastic domestic season, but they lost both Group Stage matches against Real Madrid. They aren’t quite at Liverpool’s level, and I believe they will struggle to cope with the Reds on the break. I see Liverpool winning 2-0.
