Tuchel will be impressed by what Chelsea target Aurelien Tchouameni performed last night. Aurelien Tchouameni, a Chelsea transfer target, scored his first senior international goal for France in a 2-1 friendly win against Ivory Coast at the Velodrome in Marseille on Friday night.
Didier Deschamps gave RB Leipzig attacker Christoph Nkunku his first start and recalled Olivier Giroud for the friendly, who was making his first appearance since the EURO 2020 finals.
The visitors took the lead with Nicholas Pepe’s stunning shot midway through the first half, but Giroud’s header swiftly canceled out any advantage.
In the second session, both teams had chances, but it was Tchouameni, 22, who was making his ninth appearance for Deschamps’ world winners, who scored a stunning late winner during injury time.
After several strong performances in Ligue 1, where he was named Young Player of the Year and named to the Team of the Year for the 2020/21 season, the Monaco midfielder has been a long-term transfer target for Chelsea.
Several major European teams have expressed interest in him as a result of his rise to fame, with Blues manager Thomas Tuchel among them.
One of the German’s major goals for the forthcoming summer transfer window is to improve his midfield options, with Tchouameni and West Ham’s Declan Rice being mentioned as possible targets.

Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are both in their 30s, so the Blues will be looking to the future with their expenditure. Conor Gallagher, 22, is also due to return to the club this summer after a loan spell at Crystal Palace, bolstering Tuchel’s options.
Liverpool is apparently interested in bringing Tchouameni to the Premier League and sees him as a long-term alternative for Jordan Henderson and James Milner when they retire.
The Reds had signed Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco in 2018 for a rumored sum of roughly £39 million.
It’s unclear where Tchouameni will play club football next season, but after scoring his first international goal, he’ll undoubtedly receive even more attention as the summer transfer market approaches.
