The Police place a ₵50k bounty on robbers who killed officers
The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has set a GHc50,000 reward for the armed bandits who brutally murdered two police officers in Zuarungu, Upper East Region.
This implies that anyone who provides information that leads to the thieves’ apprehension would be rewarded with GH50,000.
According to sources, the dead were patrolling the neighborhood on a motorcycle when they died tragically on Wednesday evening.
The victims happened upon the robbers who were stealing a ‘provisions’ shop at the market square, according to Albert Sore of JoyNews. The bandits opened fire when they saw the cops.
He went on to say that the patrol motorcycle the policemen were traveling on was hit by a bullet, resulting in an explosion and the duo’s sudden death.
In response, the Police Service called it a “Black Wednesday” in a Facebook message.
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police, then made a break from his other commitments in the Ashanti Region to pay a visit to the families of the “fallen Heroes.”
According to him, the Service would leave no stone unturned in its efforts to bring the killers to justice.
