After leading England to victory at Euro 2022, Wiegman won the Best Women’s Coach Award for the third time in her career.
Scaloni became the first non-European to receive the Best Men’s Coach Award after leading Argentina to a historic FIFA World Cup victory.
Argentina’s fans were also honoured for their contributions to Qatar 2022. They received the FIFA Fan Award.
Meanwhile, Alexia Putellas of Barcelona and Spain received the Best FIFA Women’s Player title for the second year in a row.
Predictably, Messi and Putellas were also named to the FIFPRO World 11s by their peers.
Georgian defender Luka Lochoshvili got the FIFA Fair Play Award for his role in saving an opponent’s life on the pitch.
Last year, when playing for Wolfsberger in Austria, Lochoshvili came to the help of Georg Teigl, who had been knocked unconscious.
Lochoshvili restrained Teigl’s tongue from swallowing it.
