Take Full Advantage of iPhone 13 Pro 120Hz ProMotion Displays. Third-party apps will be able to fully utilize the iPhone 13 Pro 120Hz ProMotion Displays with iOS 15.4.
Following the release of the iPhone 13 Pro models with 120Hz ProMotion, it became evident that the majority of third-party software animations were confined to 60Hz and could not take advantage of the new devices’ 120Hz maximum refresh rate.
Apple stated at the time that there was a Core Animation bug that will be addressed in a future version.
In the iOS 15.4 beta, Apple looks to be resolving the Core Animation issue by proposing a modification that will automatically offer 120Hz refresh rates for all animations on iPhones with ProMotion capability, resulting in a more streamlined user experience.
Christian Selig, an Apollo developer, wrote on Twitter today that he was informed by Apple that a patch has been included in iOS 15.4, and he was able to check the change himself.
There should be no discernible difference between the various animations in an app with full 120Hz ProMotion support, and everything should work as planned.
120Hz refresh rates are designed to make browsing through material, gaming, and other activities more fluid.

What is ProMotion Display
Apple Pencil becomes even more sensitive with ProMotion, boasting an industry-leading 20-millisecond latency for even more fluid and natural drawing.
By dynamically altering the display refresh rate to match the movement of the information, ProMotion improves display quality and decreases battery usage.”
