Snap Story revenue with creators: Users of Snapchat may soon begin to notice adverts in between Snaps from their favorite producers.
Snapchat started experimental testing mid-roll advertisements in Snap Star Stories on Monday, according to a company release. While people may object to the adverts, the authors may not. Creators will receive “a part of the income produced by the advertising” from Snapchat.
Snap Stars, the platform’s term for recognized creators, are the only ones eligible for the revenue scheme. These producers’ Snap Stories will have mid-roll advertising placed between Snaps.

It’s always a plus when internet platforms provide content producers with more possibilities to monetize their work. Over the years, Snapchat has experimented with a variety of creative revenue sources, including its TikTok rival Spotlight, which rewards users for exceptionally viral videos. This is, however, the company’s first time experimenting with an ad income sharing approach.
“An early batch of U.S. Snap Stars” are participating in the current beta test. Later this year, Snapchat aims to expand the revenue function to other producers.
