“The 2021 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) site was opened on Saturday, March 26, 2022,” the Education Service announced in a social media post seen by EducationWeb on Friday, March 25, 2022.
Kwasi Kwarteng, the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) Public Relations Officer, revealed that out of the 571,892 applicants who sat for the BECE, 555,353 qualified for school placement.
According to the spokesperson, a total of 367,811 pupils who sat the West African Examinations Council’s national test last year were automatically placed in various second-cycle institutions.
“This implies that a total of 187,542 qualifying candidates will have to perform self-placement to choose from accessible schools because none of their preferences were matched,” Ministry of Education personnel revealed today.
Unfortunately, according to Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, pupils who received a grade 9 in English Language or Mathematics were not placed in any school because of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) guideline regulation.

Before checking their school posting on Saturday, March 26, 2022, prospective applicants must purchase a school placement checker E-voucher from an authorized vendor;
- Visit the official computer placement portal cssps.gov.gh
- Click on check placement
- Enter your Index number and add 21 as your year of completion (Eg. 123456789021)
- Enter your placement card details (serial number and pin)
- Click on submit and wait for a new window to display your placement.
- Print the form if you have been placed and visit the school to begin the admission process
