The police have stated that the driver of a black Mercedes-Benz, who was recorded on a video showing reckless antics at the airport traffic signal intersection in Accra and was supposed to appear in court today, Monday, October 25, 2021, has fallen unwell.
According to the police, he has been admitted to an unidentified medical institution for observation.
The driver, Kofi Sasa, was apprehended by Airport Police on Sunday, October 24, 2021, after he was filmed in a viral video carelessly exhibiting his driving skills.
He was accused of reckless driving and endangering other road users.
In the video, he (Kofi Sasa) is seen standing still on the road’s hatch marks, among automobiles that had stopped in reaction to the traffic signal turning red.
He then drove into the center of the four-lane road and began driving in tight circles, which stunt drivers referred to as doughnuts, before rushing away while the signal was still red.
It is unknown when the event occurred, but it was recorded on video by an unnamed person and shared on social media.
