Chelsea icons Petr Cech, Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba, and John Terry are among the six players poised to be admitted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2022, with Petr Cech, Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba, and John Terry on the shortlist for the public vote.
The Premier League established the official Hall of Fame last year to honor and recognize the finest players to have participated in the English top division since its inception in 1992, and it is the league’s highest individual honor.
The new 2022 introductions have already begun, with Wayne Rooney and Patrick Vieira joining them earlier today, with six more to follow shortly.
Frank Lampard is the only Chelsea player in the Hall of Fame at the moment, having been nominated with Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, David Beckham, Dennis Bergkamp, Eric Cantona, Steven Gerrard, and Roy Keane on the original list last year.
Based on their career statistics in the Premier League, the Premier League has compiled a shortlist of 25 retired players who might be admitted into the Hall of Fame, with fans voting on which six are successful.
Chelsea is well-represented on the shortlist, with four former players in contention for a permanent spot in the Hall of Fame. The trio has a combined Premier League appearance total of 1,308 for the Blues, not adding the time Cech and Cole spent in the top level with Arsenal.

All four of the players were part of our first Double-winning team in 2009/10, and only Cole was absent when we won the Premier League in 2005 and 2006. Cech, Drogba, and Terry won the trophy once again in 2015, before Terry won his fourth winner’s medal two years later, with the defender captaining all four victories.
Aside from the league titles, Drogba won the Golden Boot award for best scorer twice, in 2006/07 and 2009/10, while Cech won the Golden Glove award for most clean sheets three times with the Blues, in 2004/05, 2009/10, and 2013/14.
