Nsawam Accident: Police looking for the driver who caused the crash
The driver of a trailer truck lost control and slammed into numerous vehicles, killing four ladies instantaneously at Nsawam in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality, according to police in the Eastern Region.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Eastern Regional Police PRO, confirmed the event to Citi News and added that attempts are being made to apprehend the driver.
According to the police, the Mercedes Benz truck with the registration number GT 7176 N was laden with an undisclosed amount of cement and was on its way from Accra to Nsawam.
The truck’s brakes allegedly failed as it reached a part of the road near Prince Boateng Memorial School, leading it to collide with vehicles ahead of it. The four ladies died as a result of this.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Nsawam government hospital for identification and autopsy, but the wrecked cars have yet to be dragged away.
