Police intervene to prevent a violent conflict between Nima and Mamobi youths over shisha.
Following a violent altercation between the youth of Nima and Mamobi on Tuesday afternoon, a quick intervention by the police prevented what could have been carnage.
The confrontation claimed the lives of four people, according to sources, although the police have yet to confirm this.
The police stated they “forcefully interfered” and got the situation under control in a Twitter post hours after the incident went viral.
The culprits are being hunted down and brought to justice, according to the message.
Previously, footage circulated on Twitter showing adolescents in neighboring Muslim villages with clubs and cutlasses.
Gunshots can be heard in one of the films, and the teenagers can be seen slicing one other with machetes in others.
The cause of the argument between the teenagers is unknown, although according to some Twitter posts, the brawl was over a shisha.
