On Monday, October 25, a 28-year-old man will appear in court after being apprehended for driving dangerously in Accra.

The suspect, Kofi Sasa, was seen on camera in a grey Mercedes Benz driving dangerously at the Airport intersection off the 37- Legon road in Accra.
On Saturday, October 23, he was seen on camera drifting dangerously beneath a traffic light that had signaled cars to halt.

According to the amateur film, he then drove into the center of the four-lane road, spun his car in circles, and ultimately sped away before the traffic signal turned green, in a Fast and Furious-style maneuver.

Mr. Sasa brought himself in with several relatives on Sunday morning, according to police, as the Airport Police Station began its investigation.

He was then held in custody until his arraignment procedures were finished.

“I’ve just given them [suspect’s family] a call to come so that he can be granted bail, and then we go to court tomorrow,” Divisional MTTD Commander Supt John Atanga told JoyNews.

“We have cameras everywhere these days.” So you don’t [violate the law] and you get away with it,” he said to Emefa Apawu.
