NPP disciplinary committee: Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer position, and four other individuals have been reported to the committee’s disciplinary body for acting inappropriately during the recently concluded Super Delegates Conference.
Mr. Raphael Patrick Servo, Mr. Charles Dokyi Yaw-Addo, Mr. Musa Sulemana, and Mr. Hopeson Yaovi Adorye are the additional four.
While praising all candidates and their supporters for their good behavior and adherence to the election’s standards, rules, and regulations, the party denounced several violations that took place at some polling places.
According to the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, this was done as a reaction to evidence, which includes video and photographic materials, that suggests possible breaches of the party’s constitution’s Article 3(5)(A) and possible improper conduct in violation of Article 4(7) during Saturday’s special delegates conference that shortlisted five presidential candidates.
Kennedy Agyapong will be required to go before the disciplinary committee, according to the party, to “give replies as well as further details to the claims and threats he made against particular personalities in a video that has since gone viral on social media and mainstream media.”
In a live broadcast and television appearance, Hopeson Adorye also claimed that the Chief of Staff was disbursing money to delegates while seated in an office at the party headquarters.
