Nana Akufo-Addo’s 26th address to the nation as Covid-19 cases hit 100k
On Sunday, July 25, President Akufo-Addo spoke to the country about the steps his administration has put in place to intensify the battle against the Covid-19 epidemic and prevent it from spreading further.
His 26th address comes at a time when the country is seeing a surge in coronavirus cases and is on the verge of a third wave.
The President, speaking from the Jubilee House, stated that the administration is dedicated to developing herd immunity in order to safeguard civilians from the coronavirus.
According to him, the COVAX facility, African Medicine Supply Platform, and other entities would acquire 18,478,670 vaccinations to help in the battle against the Covid-19 epidemic.
The President revised the guidelines regarding weddings and funerals in the country while asking residents to rigorously follow the Covid-19 safety procedures.
He also disclosed that the government will provide seed financing in the amount of $25 million to help build a National Vaccine Institute.
