2 members of the NPP have filed a motion for a preliminary injunction: In the ongoing polling station executives and electoral area coordinators election in the New Juaben North Constituency, two members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have sought an injunction.
Levina Agyapong of Asokore and Bright Oppong of Effiduase filed the allegations against the NPP’s Eastern Regional Chairman, Kingston Kissi, and the New Juaben North Constituency Secretary, Asante Antwi.
They are asking the court to order the entire electioneering process to be canceled since it has been marred by irregularities.
They also want the court to issue an injunction requiring the defendants in charge of the polling station and electoral area coordinators’ election nomination forms to make them available to all eligible members.
The plaintiffs also seek the court to order that the sale of the application forms be handled by the Regional and National Executives, as well as a declaration that no prospective candidate would be refused access to the application form purchase by the committee.
