Marc Cucurella to Chelsea FC: The Spanish defender has been linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge, but his club has refuted the rumors.
In a statement, Brighton refuted claims that they had contracted with Chelsea to sell Marc Cucurella. A £52.5 million deal between the Premier League clubs was allegedly reached earlier on Wednesday, according to a number of publications.
Brighton, though, insists that they have not yet signed an agreement with any team.
There have also been rumors that Barcelona (and formerly, Manchester City) are competing for the left-back.
What did Brighton say about the Cucurella rumors?
According to a tweet from Brighton’s official account, “No agreement has been struck with any club to sell Marc Cucurella, contrary to erroneous rumors from various media sites this evening.”

Will Cucurella leave Brighton?
The 24-year-old defender is the subject of interest from Barcelona, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
Because they are looking for a new left-back to replace Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal this summer, City was eager to sign the former Spain international.
Brighton’s unwillingness to lower their £50 million ($61m) asking price, according to GOAL, has compelled the Premier League champions to consider alternative possibilities.
Instead, Chelsea has emerged as the favorite to sign him since it has been said that they are willing to compromise with Brighton and may include center-back Levi Colwill in the deal.
Although Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso are also available as possibilities to play on the left flank, Cucurella is an experienced wing-back who might suit well in Thomas Tuchel’s back-three formation.
