Manchester United are reported to be closing in on a move for Raphael Varane
Manchester United are reportedly close to completing a deal to sign Raphael Varane.
United and Real Madrid are reportedly in talks, according to the French newspaper Le Parisien, who adds, “We are rapidly approaching an agreement between the two clubs.”
According to the source, an agreement between the two teams may be reached within the next week.
It is a pretty hopeful assessment where United are concerned. The price estimated for Varane is at around 45 million Euros (£38.5m).
That appears to be too good to be true, and it might simply be the basic deal price prior to add-ons.
Last week, United finally announced Jadon Sancho’s transfer, and now they must move on to the next planned move. The club has been pursuing a deal for Varane for the entire summer.
Varane wants his future to be decided as soon as possible, and United’s interest has grown since Euro 2020 ended.
Varane would arrive in Manchester at the start of August, when Sancho and the rest of United’s Euro 2020 stars are expected to return.
This deal appears to be on the verge of being completed, but anything could still go wrong. The upcoming week could prove pivotal.
