Kwaku Manu laments the rise in the cost of goods and services: Kwaku Manu, a Ghanaian actor, and television star has urged President Akufo-Addo to take steps to alleviate the country’s economic woes.
According to him, prices of products and services have risen at an exponential rate in recent weeks, impacting people’s living standards.
If the price of products continues to climb, the actor added, the youth may continue to struggle to make a living.
Kwaku Manu gave an example, saying that before his journey to Europe, he inquired about the cost of certain cables he required for a house he was building.
The price after the computation was GHS357, but when he went to buy them about a month later, he was to pay over GHS870 for the same quantity of wires, more than double the price.
Mr. Manu stated that he filled his car with petrol for GHS600 before leaving, but that when he returned, even with fuel in his tank, he had to pay GHS700 to fill it.
Kwaku Manu believes that unless anything is done to address some of these issues, the country would be on a disastrous road.
He asked people to set politics aside and focus on some of these concerns, as well as suggest answers that would benefit the country.
