Kuo: iPhone 13 Pro series to have improved ultra-wide camera with AF
Since 2019, Apple has started releasing iPhones with ultrawide-angle cameras, all of which have fixed focus. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this will change with the iPhone 13 Pro series, which will have an upgraded ultrawide camera with focusing.
Only the more powerful iPhones will get the new camera in 2021, according to Kuo’s investor note, while the non-Pro models would have to wait until 2022, when all four models will get the upgraded ultrawide camera.
Because the lens can be changed, autofocus is improved, resulting in sharper photos in all situations. In fixed focus, the object needs to be at the perfect distance, otherwise, the phone often fails to produce a desirable photo.
