Kofi Kinaata crowned Artiste of the Year: Martin King Arthur, also known as Kofi Kinaata and a native of Takoradi, won the most coveted prize at the recently concluded Ghana Music Awards USA.
At the ceremony, which was held at Columbus, Ohio’s Lincoln Theater on 769 E. Long Street, Kofi Kinaata was named Artist of the Year.
He defeated a strong field that included Diana Hamilton, the winner from the previous year, Black Sherif, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy.
The Hip-hop/Highlife Artiste of the Year and New Artiste of the Year honors went to rapper Black Sherif as well.

The female vocalist of the year is Diana Hamilton, while the male vocalist of the year is Akwaboah. The song “Yeeko” by Okyeame Kwame, featuring Kuami Eugene, and Epixode, who won Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year, is the most popular song of the year.
There was no exception for the Lynx Entertainment lads. KiDi won the Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste of the Year title, while Kuami Eugene took home the Sound Engineer/Producer of the Year honor.
