Ken Agyapong criticizes the government: A well-known NPP candidate for flagbearer, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has expressed his displeasure with the way the government is dealing with the local currency.
Why did Ken Agyapong criticizes the government?
Mr. Agyapong voiced his displeasure with the Cedi’s devaluation during his campaign tour in Kintampo North, Bono East Region. He disclosed that during the course of five months, from March to August 2022, the value of his $40 million in Cedi equivalent had dropped to $16 million.
Without specifically naming anyone, He made a reference to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is the head of Ghana’s economic management team and a potential NPP flagbearer.
He stated that it was unusual to see an economic manager request financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and yet continue to pose as a “strategist.”
Ken Agyapong advised his other flagbearer candidates to run an honest and open campaign. He reassured that he will respond to every accusation made against him and advised people to use caution when making statements.
In his remarks, He emphasized the value of running an ethical campaign. He vowed to respond to any criticism leveled at him and highlighted the significance of running the nation with common sense.
Mr. Agyapong said that, compared to his opponents, he would be a more successful manager of the economy while demonstrating his economic managerial skills to party delegates.
He emphasized the employment of over 7,000 people every month at his thriving enterprises as proof of his capacity to help lower the nation’s unemployment rate.
