Is UHAS a public or private University: The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) was established by an Act of Parliament (Act 828 in December 2011) with the aim of becoming a preeminent institution of higher learning dedicated to community service and research in the field of health.
The main campus and the central administration are located in Ho. At Hohoe, there is a second campus. The institution’s doors first opened in September 2012 with 154 pupils.

The Volta Region of Ghana’s first public university, UHAS, is today the only state organization in Ghana wholly dedicated to the education of healthcare professionals.

The third institute which is yet to be established is the Institute of Medical Education
