iPhone camera to let you translate signs: Technology is fast advancing and transcending cultural and language divides all around the world.
Apple, one of the most powerful technology companies, has begun its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2022). The IT firm has been showcasing how technology can make conversation easier and more comfortable.
Apple unveiled iOS 16, its newest mobile operating system, during its presentation. The most recent version adds a plethora of new features and tools to make communication more effective and impactful.
iPhone camera to let you translate signs
Apple said that its new translation tool is coming to the Camera App, among other improvements. This effectively implies that users will be able to interpret signage, packaging, and other items in real-time using their iPhone cameras.
The new function is simple to use. To translate text, users just open their iPhone camera, point it at the text they wish to translate, hit the text selection button, choose the text, and select the translate option.
This will provide a quick translation of the text you’ve chosen. Users may also pause the display to see the translated text above the text, and they can zoom in for a closer look.
For travelers who are constantly confronted with signage in foreign languages, this will be a useful tool. Previously, Google Interpret had a similar function that allowed users to translate text by activating the camera from within the program. With the iOS 16 Camera app, Apple now has a translation tool that is on par with Google Translate.
Quick Actions, which includes the Camera function and Live Text choices, is another intriguing feature. It gives you access to all of the information in photos and movies taken using the Camera app. For example, to track information and access URLs, users may simply swipe up information about flights, shipments, currencies, URLs, and foreign languages.
At WWDC 2022, the highlight of the presentation was iOS 16. iPhone customers all across the world will be able to download the new operating system later this year.
