Countries with the most billionaires: There are a lot of highly wealthy people. 77 countries or territories, up from 75 the previous year, are represented by the 2640 billionaires who are listed on Forbes’ 2023 list of the world’s wealthiest people.
The two newest nations on the list are Panama and Armenia, each of which has added a billionaire: a billionaire investor from Panama, whose portfolio of Latin American companies includes the Panamanian bank, as well as a politician and investment banker from Armenia, who made his fortune in Russia in the 1990s and renounced his Russian citizenship last year, both make their debuts.
Later, after being removed from the 2022 list, returns. With 735 billionaires, the same amount as the previous year, the United States is once again the country with the most billionaires.

51 billionaires, down from 62 the year before. $160 billion (-$27 billion) is the total net worth. Vicky Safra has the most wealth, with $16.7 billion.
United Kingdom
52 billionaires, up from 50 the previous year. Equity held by shareholders is $202 billion ($2 billion more). James Ratcliffe is the richest individual with $22.9 billion.
Taiwan (tied)
52 billionaires, up from 51 the year before. $136 billion (-$15 billion) is the total net worth. The two richest people are Lin Shu-hong and Zhang Congyuan, each worth $7.8 billion.
Canada
63 billionaires, down from 64 the year before. $245 billion in total shareholders’ equity (-$63 billion). David Thomson and family are the wealthiest people, with $54.4 billion.
Italy
64 billionaires, up from 52 the year before. Equity held by stockholders is $216 billion ($21 billion) in total. Giovanni Ferrero, with 38.9 billion USD, is the richest person.
Hong Kong
66 billionaires, down from 67 the year before. $350 billion (-$33 billion) is the total net worth. The richest individual is Li Ka-shing, with $38 billion.
