Chairman Wontumi wants to buy club Chelsea: Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), often known as ‘Chairman Wontumi,’ has announced his ambition to purchase Premier League team, Chelsea.
The club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, has announced his plan to sell it for £3 billion.
Several billionaires have expressed interest in purchasing the club from its Russian owner.
Mr. Boasiako, however, stated on Kumasi-based Wontumi FM that he is willing to acquire the two-time Champions League champions from Abramovich.
“I’d want to purchase Chelsea.” I’m a businessman, and I’d want to join the group of people who want to acquire the club. “I feel it is past time for Abramovich to assist a Ghanaian or an African in securing the club,” he asserted.
“Ghanaians like Chelsea, so I’m doing it for them.” Personally, I am a Manchester United fan who wants to purchase the club.
“We will negotiate because £3 billion is nothing to us. I am confident that if I am able to acquire Chelsea, I will win “Added he.
Since 2003, Abramovich has owned Chelsea and supervised 19 major trophy victories.
