5th Dimension Album: Stonebwoy, one of Ghana’s most celebrated dancehall and afrobeat artists, has released his fifth studio album, titled 5th Dimension (lnk.to). The album, which was announced on March 17, is a collaboration with Def Jam Recordings, one of the world’s leading music labels.
The album could feature 17 tracks, with guest appearances from some of the biggest names in music, such as Stormzy, Davido, Angelique Kidjo, and more. (NB: Just our speculation)
The Concept
The title of the album, 5th Dimension, is a reference to Stonebwoy’s spiritual and artistic evolution. According to him, the album is a reflection of his journey from being a local star to a global icon, and his vision for the future of African music. He said in a press release:
“This album is very special to me because it represents my growth as an artist and a person. I have been through a lot of challenges and experiences in my career, and I have learned from them. I have also been inspired by the amazing talent and diversity of African music, and I want to showcase that to the world. This album is my way of transcending the boundaries of genre, culture and geography, and creating a new dimension of sound that celebrates Africa.”

The album is a fusion of dancehall, afrobeat, reggae, pop and R&B, with influences from various African countries and regions. Stonebwoy showcases his versatility and creativity as he switches between different languages, styles and vibes. The album is also well-produced, with crisp beats, catchy hooks and smooth melodies.
Earlier this month, during a conversation with Loop Magazine, Stonebwoy discussed his singles ‘More of You,” “Therapy,” and (released in late 2022). He revealed that both singles will feature on the upcoming album and are “part of the direction in which the album will be heading in.” He also told Vocalo in a previous conversation in February that “the whole album is the lead. Everybody’s going to find their own from it. Everybody’s going to find something beautiful in the album.”
5th Dimension: The title track of the album is a futuristic afrobeat song that showcases Stonebwoy’s vision for African music. He sings in English and Pidgin over a synth-heavy beat, while Davido adds his energetic vocals on the bridge.
